The short version

• We collect your email if you subscribe, and nothing else about you unless you send it.
• We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not track you across other sites.
• We do not sell your data. There is no version of this site where we would.
• Rate submissions are published as anonymous medians. Verification files are deleted after checking.
• You can get your data or have it deleted by emailing privacy@earnbunny.com.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter

Your email address, the date you subscribed, and which page you subscribed from. Our email provider records whether messages were delivered and opened, and which links were clicked. We use that to work out which pieces are worth writing more of, not to build a profile of you.

If you submit numbers to the rate ledger

What you type into the form, plus any verification file you send. The verification file is deleted once the figure has been checked and recorded. What survives is the figure itself, its category, the month and the country — nothing that identifies you. Individual submissions are never published.

If you email us

Your message and address, kept for as long as the conversation is useful and then deleted. Pitch correspondence is kept for twelve months.

When you just read the site

Aggregate analytics: pages viewed, rough country, referring site, device type. We use [analytics provider], configured without cross-site tracking and without cookies that follow you elsewhere. We do not attempt to identify individual readers, and we do not run advertising trackers.

What we never collect

We do not ask for your income, your tax details, your bank information or your client names, and the tools on this site do not send anything anywhere. The hourly rate calculator runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type into it leaves your device or is stored by us.

Cookies

We use a small number of functional cookies to remember interface preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you block all cookies, everything on the site still works.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy something. These are labelled at the link itself. When you follow one, the destination site may set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Our editorial rules around this are on the how we test page.

Who we share data with

Only the services needed to run the site: our email provider, our hosting provider, our analytics provider, and our form handler. Each processes data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

We will disclose data if legally required to. If that ever happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.

How long we keep things

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.
• Verification files: deleted as soon as the figure is checked, usually within two weeks.
• Ledger figures: kept indefinitely in anonymous form, retired from display after twelve months.
• Email correspondence: deleted when the conversation is finished, or after twelve months for pitches.
• Analytics: aggregate only, retained [retention period].

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@earnbunny.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not ask you to justify the request.

Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. You do not need to email anyone to stop receiving it.

Children

This site is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has submitted information, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change something material, we update the date at the top of this page and mention it in the newsletter. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and hope nobody notices.
