Write for us
We commission people who have actually done the work. If you have run a hustle, freelanced through something difficult, or have a spreadsheet nobody else has, we would like to hear from you — and we pay.
What we publish
The common thread is evidence. Almost everything we run is built on something you can show: a timesheet, a set of invoices, a survey you ran, a test you conducted. Strong pitches usually fall into one of these shapes.
- The field test. You did a specific kind of work for a set period and logged it. What it paid, what it cost, how long it really took, and whether you would do it again.
- The teardown. A popular claim, checked against real numbers. Most of these end with the claim being roughly a third as good as advertised, and that is a useful piece.
- The method. A repeatable process for something specific: quoting when the budget is hidden, raising a rate, structuring a retainer. Must include the actual words you used.
- The survey. You asked fifty or more people the same question and have the data. We will help with the analysis if the data is good.
What we do not publish
- Listicles of hustles you have not personally tried
- Anything built around a course, coaching programme or affiliate funnel you own
- Motivation, mindset and morning routines
- Pieces where the earnings evidence is a dashboard screenshot
- AI-drafted submissions. We can tell, and it wastes both our time.
Rates and terms
- $450 flat for a standard report, roughly 1,200–2,000 words.
- $700 for a field test where you supply logged data we can verify.
- $900+ for original survey work with a sample above 100, agreed in advance.
We pay a flat fee, not per word, and never per pageview. Payment is 30 days from publication, or 30 days from acceptance if publication slips for our reasons. You keep the copyright and can republish anywhere after 60 days with a link back. We take first publication rights and that is all.
One firm rule
You must be willing to share the underlying evidence with our editor, even where it is redacted before publication. We check figures before they go up. If the numbers cannot be shown to us at all, we cannot run the piece.
How to pitch
Send an email to pitches@earnbunny.com with the subject line as your proposed headline. In the body, we want four things and nothing else:
- The finding, in one sentence. Not the topic — the thing you learned. “Job boards paid a third of what direct clients paid for the same work” is a finding. “An article about freelance rates” is a topic.
- What evidence you have. Be specific: 40 quotes logged in a spreadsheet, 90 days of timesheets, 214 survey responses.
- Why you. Two lines. Relevant experience only.
- One writing sample. A link is fine. It does not need to be published work.
Do not send a finished draft on spec. We would rather shape the piece with you than reject 2,000 words you already wrote.
What happens next
We reply to every pitch within two weeks, including the ones we turn down, and we say why. If we commission it, you get a short brief with an agreed angle, word count, deadline and fee before you start writing. One round of edits is normal, two happens, three means we briefed it badly.
Not sure whether your idea fits? Read how we test first. If your evidence would survive that page, the pitch will probably survive us.
The Payout · every Tuesday
Three gigs worth doing. One worth skipping.
Plus the rates behind both, pulled from what readers actually got paid last week. Free, and it stays that way.
No sponsored gigs in the main list. When a link pays us, it says so on the line above it.
